Inductive and deductive approaches to research
This approach is suitable for those
projects, where the concentration is majorly on the context of the event, i.e.
where small sample is more meaningful than large sample (Collins 2010). He
further differentiates between deductive and inductive approach in which,
deductive approach is termed as strategic approach, where main emphasis is on
quantitative data and the research move from theory to data. This is a
scientific approach. Whereas, inductive is a flexible approach, where data
required must have quality in it. In this approach the researcher is the part
of research process unlike deductive approach.

In this paper, the inductive approach
is used by the researcher, as the data is first analysed regarding to the use
of information tools in BPO Company and then inference is made by the
researcher about their impact on serving the customer. The proper combination
of interpretivism and realism philosophy is with inductive approach, thus
researcher has ignored deductive approach. Additionally, deductive approach is
not used by the researcher because researcher has not established any theory or
hypothesis to achieve the research objectives and not used positivism
philosophy.
